He better have - rule #1 of trying a new toy with the
potential to hurt somebody, try it on yourself first
(at least according to one of my BDSM friends online).

Now, maybe we should work a little closer to the
subject material, so poor Thy doesn't have a heart
attack when he reads he mail? Trying to annoy him
back is all well and good, but counterproductive if,
rather than annoying him, you kill him. :)
