Is it just me, or do I detect an artist gloating in advance over a plot
formation?
*cocks ears*
Yup, I know that sound.

Muhahah, more fuel for the fire...
This whole separation of the comix world from the "normal" one is tough, but
it certainly makes things interesting, heheh.

Interesting indeed...

This would be another example of the blurring of boundaries between
the two realities again. In the "comics" (humor-wise), the sisters
live with Jim, and Val or the girls are able to whip some ass without
worrying about actually killing anyone. In the "real" world that
these characters live in, the sisters still live with their mother,
though they did have to spend some time at Jim's place in the past.
Val didn't _really_ rip off Jim's ear, because he still has them both
in the next comic. Most of the "violence" that is drawn concerning
these characters is drawn for humor.
Does Val have a bit of a temper? Yeah, a little. Especially when
it comes to her daughters. Val's ex-boyfriend had attempted to mess
around with the sisters when they were pre-teenagers, and Lori carved
up his face and removed one of his eyes in an effort to keep him
away. By the time Val learned of this, he was already in the
hospital and on his way to being arrested. Unable to do anything to
him directly at this point, Val packed up her belongings and her
kids, and relocated. Neither her first husband nor her ex-boyfriend
know that she runs the Skunkworks Studio, and her number and address
are unlisted to prevent being found.
But it's possible that if someone were real determined, they might
be able to find out where the sisters and their mother live. Someone
like, oh, say, a scarred and angry ex-boyfriend, for example.
Unfortunately for him, the sisters are good friends with Dinah from
Caterwaul Inc., and it only takes one phone call to "take care of a
problem"... ;)
