Interesting... sadly all I've seen of Benny Hill is what can be seen
on those infomercials for his video collection. All of it was pretty
funny though. Kinda weird that a lot of good, hilarious comedy is
released on British TV and only occasionally makes it to cable for
U.S. consumption.

Which is, for example, why the movie "Bean" contains mostly rehashed
bits from his many episodes (I can thank HBO for the "Best of Mr.
Bean" series when they had it on, as well as a few other basic cable
channels that showed classic episodes)...

As for the "reality" of the situation, it's strange (and sad) that
you should have to give reality checks to people discussing fictional
characters (sometimes AS fictional characters) in a message board
based on art which is itself based on fiction. Hmmm... seems I need
to say that word more. Fictional. Fiction. Fictitious. Not real. Non-
reality. Fakery. Virtual reality (boy that term died since the 90's).
Okay, I'm done laughing.

I'm not offended, and am finding this talk to be, well, worth reading
at least (though Shad as usual pushes some envelopes, I think I am
adjusting to his perversion. After all, we despise in others what we
see in ourselves...)

Ok then, I will! >:-P I think that for the most part the fan fics on
EWS's work have been pretty respectful, however I too am against
people changing others' works (for example: making the character of
Mickey Mouse into a homicidal, megalomaniacal supermouse who
slaughters the inhabitants of Disneyland and takes over the U.S.
government, starting the apocalypse and reigning as King of The Earth
would royally piss Disney off, but would be kinda cool!)

Ah, the old "laissez-faire" approach works, ya see.

Good to know. While I don't support neutrality in all situations, it
has its strong points....
