This is a broadcast message to all YGroups that have been affected by the
recent attack by a supposed member of the Portal of Evil. The situation has
been dealt with, and I just wish to make a few last things clear before it's
put to rest. Number 1, PoE is NOT an anti-furry site, and it is NOT a site
that attacks other sites. Finally, this guy was NOT associated with PoE in
any fashion, other than the fact that he lurked on their message boards. To
close this matter, I am working on getting the automatic spam accounts wiped
from the affected groups, and I have assured the owner of PoE that there
will be no counter-attacks from us about the matter. I appreciate your
co-operation in this matter in advance, and apologize for any inconvenience
this message may have caused you. Anyone wishing more detailed information
can read the paragraphs below, but I think I've said everyhting I need to
say. Again, sorry to bother you if you were not involved in this.

I just want to say thank you for doing such an effective job of dealing with
the miscreant that has been hounding our groups lately. I've visited PoE
more than once, and I understand that you're not to be held responsible for
the deeds of hotheads that might hang out on your message boards, and I
commend you for going out of the way to hunt this troublemaker down, though
you're under no obligation to do so. For my part, I may have been carelessly
remiss in informing the members of our groups that this person is not
affiliated with PoE or its members, and I will make sure that no one from
our group lashes back about this on the PoE boards.
Let the pundits rant, I'm glad to see that there are still examples of
freedom and decency on the Web, and in some of the most unlikely places.
Thank you for continuing to uphold the ideals that have made the Web the
achevement that it is today.

I apologize for this problem. POE is NOT an anti furry site. yes,
some morons on our site are anti-fur but when you have 1/2 million
people visiting a month, you are going to get some bad apples.
POE does not go out and attack sites. We DO list various sites that
fall under the mainstream cool lists and discuss them in our forums.
We have a very strict no contact policy and it is listed on the top
of our home page with the link to first time visitor -

I am very serious about weeding out the bad apples. If anyone is
ever contacted by anyone claiming to be from POE or said they found
your site from POE and they are harassing you, please send me their
email with complete headers so I can match it to our logs and ban the
person. If they post in your forums or guestbook and you capture
their ipaddresses, please forward it to me. We will take swift
action against these people.
We have taken a break from posting furry sites and will not post any
new ones for months to come. For sites posted, I think you have to
admit our site does drive some legit traffic to you, our search
engines and our referers make you a popular search.
One last thing. For any site listed, if you would like to post a
rebuttal with no editing or direct response by the poe editors,
please email me at cheznoir_at_portalofevil.com and this rebuttal will
be posted from a link directly next to your listing.
