Heh, It's not my outgoing that is doing it. For some reason Yahell
turns HTML in messages i'm replying to visible, not sure why and
haven't found a way yet in the settings to change that.

As for the rest of what you said. I need to agree to an extent, I mean
I am always smiling and laughing, hoping others join in, but I wake up
and look in the mirror and all i can think of is what pains am I going
to have to deal with today. Kinda hard to get out of that mindset when
you've been doing it for years, I'll admit I may only be 24 but i've
experienced a lot more than ppl twice my age and have come to the
conclusion that happiness is but fleeting for me so I may as well make
others happy instead.

Sadness, Happiness, they are both just opposite sides of the same coin
and therefore are one.

It sounds like some of our members need a smile and a
hug! No, not the kind that the terrible trio would
like to give neither...

I'll come around to Jim's art shortly, just bear with
me while I try to give my perspective. (I have an
answer for nearly everything, so please don't take
this a preaching! Not necessarily the right answer
neither, mind!!!) Try this, it works for me!

Get up in the morning and tell yourself you're going
to have a good day. At that time of the morning most
of us aren't sharp enough to disagree, even with
ourselves, so you start the mind set of "I'm going to
have a good day". Every time you meet someone during
the day, take the effort to notice if they are happy
or sad. If they are happy, smile with them, because
you can be happy knowing that someone you know is
feeling good. If they are sad, give them a smile and
be reassuring for them. You MUST be having a better
day than them, so you can be happy your day is not
worse... Smiles are contagious and you'll frequently
find they'll smile back.

If things feel to be getting you down. Stop and step
back for a second. Look at something unrelated.
Dropping in on this group is one of my favourite
stop/think breaks. Look around and put things in
perspective. If the problem is small, look to the
bigger picture. If everything is going wrong, look
for a small thing you CAN fix. There is always
something you can do! A small win is still a win.
Like Michael Jackson said "I'm starting with the man
in the mirror". If you can't convince him, you're not
likely to convince anyone else.

I must smile a lot, for the few times I don't,
EVERYONE asks me what is wrong! This is one of the
reasons my favourite artists are really good at facial
expressions. (Yes, back to the art now...) "The eyes
are the windows to the soul", and facial expressions
mean so much to humans, (after you've interacted with
them for many years, you find that facial expressions
really are important). Look at people around; do you
like the ones that show more or less expression
better? (Generally you'll like expressive people -
they feel more alive...)

Have a look at Jim and Des' pictures and see what the
FACES are telling you. Then look at the body
language. Does it contradict? Does it agree? Look
at a picture you like, then compare to an image you
don't like as much or dislike. The expressions shown
on the faces and "what is this character saying" will
have a remarkable affect on your opion of the picture.
Other than the level of skill of applying lines to
paper, both Jim and Des are good at capturing the
emotional expression of the character. A good example
is probably Des' picture the skunk trio with Des
picture, Skunks Only
(http://www.jabarchives.com.dlee/SW_CHAR/Sjunks_Only.jpg).
Notice what each character is sayin with face, body
and dialogue. This coherence is one of the things
that make a great artist.

Falconeio, you may want to set your mailer to post in
plain text... ;-)

Smile furs, it's almost Christmas. There must be
something in your day you're looking foward to! <Big,
reassuring smile to everyone> :-)
