Hey now, there are a lot of computer literate folks like myself that
closely resemble Nick Burns when trying to help newbies. I usually
have to carefully avoid laughter and derision when helping them out
because after all, they don't know any better. I've often been
accused of being a "know-it-all bastard" when helping the less
literate (I admit sometimes I'll make comments like "Any idiot could
figure that out" and "Oh, it's the computer that's stupid, not you,
right?" much like Nick Burns) :P

The only thing I can't stand with people who buy new computers is
AOL. It's just SOOOO condescending and of course the Tech Support
just makes it worse. "So Easy no wonder it's No. 1" does not speak
well for the American public.
Sadly, many virus-making types know this all too well and program
some pretty nasty ones that work only through AOL.
I like to either call it "_at_$$holes Online" or "ISP For Dummies".

No offense to AOL'ers out there, but you have to admit it's basically
a program that takes your hand and leads you through, without giving
you as much freedom as even general dial-up ISPs like FlashNet. I
can't even use their free disks anymore, since you can't format a
Recordable CD <evil grin>..
