Actually, it's mainly that rabbits are one of those
strange critters that doesn't have an estrus cycle -
no "in heat" or "in season." If handled properly, in
a domestic situation, rabbits will breed whenever
given the chance. You just don't house them together
because they tend to be VERY territorial, and thus
dangerous - particularly the females.
