Okay, from my rabbit-breeding contact, here's how it
works.
The act of breeding triggers the estrus cycle, which
lasts long enough to drop the eggs. Most breeders
will put the female in with the male (to bypass the
territorial effects) in the morning, and eight hours
later, since that's when the second batch are dropped.
However, since this is straying further off topic
than normal....
