Well, the one and two Euro coins do look a bit like the Canadian two
dollar coin.
The rest of the coins, however, are markedly different. Have a look:

I do wonder, though, whatever possessed them to issue coins in
denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, and 50 cents? I'd have stuck to just
1 and 10 cent coins, myself, I think. Perhaps I'd have included 5 cent
coins as well, but never a two cent coin.
