It tends to be the sudden, unexpect movement, and the
fact the your brain's pattern buffer sees a face (we
are very good at seeing faces) gets a rapid response.
It gave my "Chev a rev" as it happened just as I was
switching windows, making the 3D effect more
prononuced. Didn't really frighten me so much as
"What the..."

Most people didn't get a shock, though my sister did!
Again just a briefly raised pulse.
