The egg came first, and here is why:
Genetics and mutation. Any finalized “first” mutation
would have come from two parents, both of
“sub-species” category. When the embryo was created
something, who knows what, happened, creating the new,
genetically different, creature. In this case, a
"pure" chicken.
Fortunately for the pure species, the pre-chickens
most likely would have laid their young in clutches of
eggs, as is similar today. Therefore there is a good
chance that there were either to viable pure chickens,
or a pure chicken and sub-chicken. The pure chicken
genes would have been dominant, and through a few
generations would have come out with a true chicken,
and the sub-species would have died out.
The Final Word.
