Because they can't leave well enough alone:
Yahoo has added something sneaky to your account. There is now
something called "Marketing Preferences". Basically it gives Yahoo
permission to send you spam through email, mail and phone, unless
you check the boxes to "NO". Problem is, right now, Yahoo has
conveniently checked all the boxes as "Yes" for you. I mean, who
WOULDN'T want Yahoo so spam you with more junk?
Go to
http://groups.yahoo.com and sign in. Up at the top of the page
click on "Account Info". It will ask you to confirm your password.
Once in your account page, click on "Edit your marketing
preferences." (right under where it lists your email addresses) and
change all those "Yes" checked boxes to "No". That is, unless you
LIKE spam mail.
I've just checked mine, and they were all set to YES, even the snail-
mail and phone marketing ones. :-/ Sigh.
I have since unchecked mine and listed myself as Albanian.
