Using my usual put up or shut up policy (though I am
jumping the gun JUST a little in this case), I have
drawn two pictures, one with Jim and Des and one with
Natasha. They are humorous and non-yiffy. Inked and
colour pencil with digital back grounds and touch up.
The manual drawing components took 4 hours and 2.7
hours respectively. Will be posting soon, once I've
finished doing the few digital touch ups. Nothing too
serious, only some of the things that aren't easy to
fix on paper, like when you draw a character in the
wrong location...
Not claiming anything great, and although it isn't
hard to REPLICATE Jim's art, it isn't as easy to draw
your own picture from scratch using someone else's
characters.
I tend to do a lame, where I either use a trace to get
basic shapes, or a grid transfer, where a scaled grid
is overlayed on the original, then in the appropriate
size grid on the drawing so that you can copy "little
pieces at a time."
This is my current system anyway and I'm sure those
with greater skill than me have better systems. Would
love to say I do like Jim and 'just draw it'.
Scrapper, Black Dragon, branching into other aspects
of SAMA art... AND posting to the group soon...
