Just a brief spiel about the picture TooWindy.JPG - by
Scrapper, Black dragon.

This was inspired by Jim's unfortunate run-ins with
Carby Cleaner. From the group posts, you may recall
Jim said he experienced a flame back that burnt off
part of his hair and beard while using aforementioned
aerosol cleaning product. Although Des was not there
at the time (from what I could deduce with what he
wrote), I thought it would make the pic a bit more
interesting and more relevant to the group.

You may notice that Des and the sign post are getting
blown away in the wind. Decided against a background
as it was going to require heaps more work, but would
probably have given the feeling of wind much better.
Des' hair is blown back and she is leaving claw marks
in the ground as she struggles against the gale.
Jim's holding onto the car, so he's right...

No idea what Jim's car looks like, but decided red and
V8 with twin carbies would look good... "Crob, Crob"
is probably as good a description for the sound a big
V8 with 'free' exhausts makes at idle. The POP was
when the flameback occurred.

Was drawn on 80GSM office copy paper with a small set
of Faber Castel pencils (about 15 years old...),
sketched in a B grade pencil then inked in with a
Pilot ballpoint. About 4 hours drawing time including
colour. This is the first picture I've drawn
(including technical diagrams) in about two years!
Ended up not putting a background in (originally going
to digitally put in, but decided not to) and in
absence of this I should have put in drop shadows and
similar to enhance lighting and 3D effect. May go
back and do this later now that I've noticed...
Rustychair did a little editing for me in regard to
moving the characters around so it wasn't so spread
out, making the picture smaller as it had a lot of
white space between them originally. Didn't touch up
lines or anything as it removes the 'hand drawn'
element.

This was lamed from print 101 'Sessions' on the
Skunkworks page. Used a grid-copy technique to get
the shape and size of the characters. Turns out Jim's
sitting pose is quite close to the crouch that I have
drawn him in. For a first go, I think it's not toooo
bad.

Hope you like it, and please, draw and post more to
show me what GOOD art looks like! :-)
