I can understand a little of what he is going through.

I have tinnitus, (ringing in the ears,) and am slowly going deaf.
It's been estimated that in 10-20 years I'll lose all my hearing.
It's hereditary, my dad went deaf.

One of the greatest joys in my life is music.
I can't make it, but I absolutely love music.
Classical, Rock, Country, you name it.

The day I no longer can hear music, will be a black day for me.

So tell Jim I really hope he gets through this intact.
