You should be able to set up filters in your email client, as most
support them. Also, I'm in 31 different lists, and I keep most, like
this one, in digest mode so I don't recieve quite so many emails per
day. Some, also like this one, are VERY active, and it's difficult
for me to keep up with all of them. Right now, I'm migrating from
Windows to Linux, so I can't download any of my emails. Once I get
Mandrake working right, I'll be setting my filters as I D/L my emails.
At least you check out the files before deleting them. I usually run
a virus checker, and in some cases, several. And being a decent
person isn't frowned upon. There are several websites that can tell
you if something's a hoax or not, and go ahead and bookmark them and
check them when something comes in. That way you can avoid being
flamed in the future.
Take heart, your efforts are appriciated. And welcome to the list.

I read the messages man but when your receiving e-mails from like
seven different groups, and the messages sometimes pile on in my
Inbox. You can't really keep up with topics that easily. Plus I write
a lot and worry about other things like getting a story done. My
personal life gets in the way forgive me but I cannot possibly keep
up with everything like that.
In the future I probably will make the same mistake since I try to be
a decent person. Point is I read the e-mails, but I don't remember
them all. And I have common enough sense to put A and B together to
know not to delete files in that directory without checking it out
more.
