That style of virus is using a outlook attack method called exploitation
mime.
If you put an attachment labled as sound or image stream outlook tries
to play it.
If the attachment is not music or image stream outlook decides that it
can be nice and run it for you anyway!
Thus infects you with whatever it was. Nice going oh so helpful
outlook-stupid bug! (get the security patches!)
If you use netscape email it is ignored as invalid and doesnt show at
all unless you use view source.
I am sure other email clients have similar issues with it.
Yahoo likely doesnt notice it because it is wrapped as sound or image
stream etc.

I prefer nortons antivirus 2002 because it checks email before it gets
to client and strips it out!
It even checks outgoing email and does the same so you cant spread it.
McAfee doesnt do that. It only bitches if it tries to run and allows you
to forward the virus etc.
