An update on Jimbo's condition. :)

Hi everybody. Well, Jim, his mother, and myself all went to the
doctor's today. Jim is taking a little nap right now in his
bedroom. I only worked a half day today, but I'll be leaving to head
home to get some stuff, since I'm gonna spend the night here in case
he might need anything. The left side of his face is all bandaged
up. He looks like some accident victim or something.
His mom and I stayed in the waiting room while he got the injection.
I don't know whether that was something he planned or not (keeping us
in the other room), but he said it was painful as hell. He said the
actual shot didn't hurt so much, but the doctor had to force the
contents of the needle between his eyeball and the socket bed. Jim
said it felt like somebody pumped his eye up to 150 psi. Then the
doctor had to keep pushing on the eye, in order to get the extra
fluid out (from the shot).
Unfortunately, he had to wait an HOUR for the use of the laser
facilities, and the numbness was wearing off. He said the laser was
*extremely* uncomfortable, but he said he wasn't about to call it
quits halfway through. So now he's sleeping with his head all
bandaged up, and he said earlier that it felt like he had a migraine
headache, but only in the left eye socket. I can't imagine how that
must feel. His left eyelid swelled up really bad, but he wouldn't
let us see. I think he takes the bandages off tomorrow morning or
something. I do recall that he asked his mom to take a picture of it
after he removed the bandages, and he plans on posting that picture
so that "anyone else with this condition, who's not taking care of it
right, can see what is in store for them". I guess there are other
diabetics on this group?
I don't think he was able to scan in any of those pictures, but
they're next to his computer. I'll ask him when he gets up. I know
he wanted to go out and mail some stuff out today, but his mom and I
talked him out of it. He said he was only missing the use of one
eye, not his whole body, but we argued with him that he needed to get
some rest. So maybe he'll get online later tonight. I don't know.
It'll depend on how he feels. And for anyone that won the auctions
and stuff, I guess he'll contact you in the next day or two. Just
bear with us here, okay? :)
I guess I'll head home now, and get my stuff. Take care,
everybody. :)
