Good to hear in both aspects!

A tip from someone used to dealing with critical
systems (railway signals tend to NEED to function
properly) and flakey power supplies (serveral hundred
miles from the nearest town does that to you...) that
even a cheap UPS (Uninterrruptable Power Supply) are
invaluable. It only needs to hold the system up for a
few minutes to let you save and shut down safely, or
just ride our the brown-out and surge. For around
US$100 (yeah, I know, more important things for you to
buy at the moment JMH) you can prevent having your
system be destroyed by surges (there is no better
surge protection than UPS, unless you count
unplugging...) and the number of times I've been
'saved' from losing heaps of work due to power
fluctuations I'd need to count on binary on my
claws... Definitely a good investment, furs.
