Well, Jim wil have no problem whatsoever if anyone want to use his
Characters in a fanfic as long as proper Credit is given, no profit
is made from it and the Trio is not used in a total OOC-manner.
That other one has hurt the 2 former reasons. The guy just changed
names (badly) and wanted to sell that fic. So, just don't make the
same mistakes and everyone will be happy.
Mind me, this is not a threat or anything, just stating facts.

Now about that little clip. It sounds really promising but I hope you
don't mind if I point out a few mishaps.
I guess you went over it with a spell-checker or something, since
there is one mistake re-appearing some times. You use the word 'grown'
when the word 'groan' should have been used, for example.
ALso there are a few grammar things that could need improving.
Things like that can be easily eliminated by giving the finished piece
to a friend to check it for you. I've experienced myself that,
despite reading your own work again and again, you won't find the
mistakes yourself.
Anyway, I hope you don't take these small criticism-points as an
insult but as a nice-meant advice to improve your promising story.
