Dunno the numbers offhand, but here's the basic facts: Jim Hardiman
has done numerous pictures of his girlfriend's online fursona. That
would be the adorable chameleon girl, Desiree Lee. (So while, yes,
she is "Jim's" in various senses, she isn't exactly "his" character.)
Without knowing it, Martin Gerlach somehow ended up with a lizard
girl (an iguana, in this case, I think), that has some resemblance to
renditions of Desiree. It may have been subconscious, it may be
coincidence... it may just be that there's a lack of ideas (or even
workable methods) for drawing a totally unique lizard-gal...
At any rate, there have been one or two people that have jumped on
the likeness and, so it seems from the tone or content of their
messages, believe that Martin is trying to rip off Jim. Martin swears
this is not the case, and there is no reason not to believe him.
However, the group is tired of people trying to start witch-hunts
over the issue, and I'm pretty sure Martin is tired of it as well.
Thanks for being polite about it, by the way. :)
