so do you have any proof of your statements?
I use nortons 2002 and it has caught every attempt
I have seen McAfee fail including the newest ones
All I see here is an advertisement
Important fact----
If you have Klez installing nortons wont help!
Klez targets notons during installs and kills it
Klez must be removed first using the removal tools
Then install and it works fine.
Also a bit on quarantine,
If a virus cannot be removed leaving the file otherwise intact it is
quarantined.
You can tell it to delete it instead, I dont as I want to view the file
that remains.
In this case it removes the section with the virus leaving whatever else
there is intact.
Also if a later version can remove the virus and restore the file it
will do so.
Also be sure you can trust a virus scanners 'this is a virus' report
before you have it delete things.
My favorite was an early dos scanner that reported windows was a
virus.....I still wonder if that isnt true:)
And finally virus scanners only find those things associated with virus
behavior.
Just because it isnt a virus doesnt mean it is safe to run it.
If I sent you 'format.exe' renamed as 'haveafuntime.exe' it still would
erase your harddrive but it is not a virus.
So never run a program given in email unless you are really really sure
it is safe to do so.
Dont forget it could have been sent by a virus and not be a virus?
Although I have not heard of this happening yet.
