Subject: [SkunkworksAMA] Anybody from MA on this group?
My Groups | SkunkworksAMA Main Page
Hey all-
I'm trying to find out if there are any folks from Massachusetts
who are into the legal profession. It seems I need to find out some
info about MA law in reference to a very large debt owed by a certain
distribution company. My lawyer down here says I may need to take my
case to Massachusetts, since FL law will likely not cover the
situation.
Basically, I have letters and documented proof, including sales
records, from Rabco Publishing, stating how much the company still
owes me. Right now the sum is around $6,300.00, and getting him to
pay is like getting water from a rock. He has been paying other
individuals, but has yet to take care of his debt to me, which has
been going on for nearly 2 years now. This has put a huge fucking
wrench into the works, effectively making it all but impossible for
me to maintain my own shipping of material. (I am awaiting word from
my mutual fund company, as I decided to cash in my mutual fund, and
use that money to finally send all these orders out). Rabco also
stated in a letter that the remaining balance would be sent to me by
August 31, 2002. It's now December 6, and I've gotten $500.00 so
far. At that rate, I'll be collecting Social Security by the time
he's done paying me off.
It looks like I may end up suing Rabco, which is why I'd like to
find out more about MA law. It's preposterous that this company sold
numerous copies of my work, all documented, yet refuses to pay. That
money could totally pay for my medical bills, man. I was hoping this
thing wouldn't get ugly, but it's obvious it's gonna get REAL ugly.
I have decided I will take whatever steps are necessary (legally) to
get the money that has been owed to me since I started doing business
with Rabco.
If anyone has any information, please contact me at my personal e-
mail address <a_change_of_plans_at_yahoo.com> and I'll get back to you.
If you know of any other artists who have been having a similar
problem with Rabco, send them my way. I will be posting a section up
on Skunked.com next week sometime, with scans of all the letters and
documents Rabco has sent regarding this situation, so that folks can
see exactly what's going on, and realize I am NOT making this shit up.
Thanks for your time, and I now return you to lots of wonderful
furry porn. ;)
