I feel for him. I know what it's like to loose a sense. Just about a
year ago, I lost my, until then perfect, hearing to a genetic
condition. Today my hearing is maintained only through a device
attached directly to my brainstem called an auditory brainstem
implant. It is far from perfect. I've withdrawn from talking to
people a lot, and have become even more lathargic than I ever was in
what I should do. Not that I wallow in self pity, but I just have
trouble getting up ambition these days (I used to write, every day,
really great stuff. I haven't written more than 50 words in months,
except for college papers). I just thought he'd like to know that one
of his fans out here understands. I don't think it's even quite the
same as not having a sense from birth. Loosing it is a whole new ball
of wax.
I'm here for ya.
