Being excessively academic does seem to deplete common
(uncommon?) sense, but temper and intelligence can
sometimes be linked that very intelligent people often
can't understand that you don't understand. Hence they
quickly become frustrated that you're 'acting dumb'. "How
can you not see that? It's obvious!!!" And the fact is
that you or I just may not get it! I'm unfortunately black
or white with my understanding. I either understand it
totally, or I have no clue what you're on about. Hence
when I misinterpret, I just totally miss the train! One
reason why really intelligent people don't always make good
teachers, they may not know how to explain it to you, since
you can't understand it the way they do.

Lori could be a bit like this. Intelligent, low on
patience and a little unmotivated, resulting in someone who
doesn't like to persist at things too far past the inital
'fun' stages.

Scrapper, Black Dragon, _still_ in the office, even though
it is 8pm at night. NOT doing work though!!! ;-)
