You tend to understand things much easier and accept them
more readily if they co-incide with that which you know an
understand. If I tell you the moon is made of green cheese
(It is! I've been there!), this tends to conflict with
your understandings of geology, generally accepted ideas
about space and your limited knowledge about cheese. If I
tell you the moon is made up of compacted silver dust, this
may not be true, but dust is dirt and agrees with your
knowledge of geology, it COULD be silver, as it reflects
light and agrees with your knowledge of physics as does the
being compacted suggesting that it is a solid as opposed to
having the appearance of a cumulous cloud... Therefore the
compacted silver dust is more believeable, due to its basis
in reality, even though it is not really a lot more correct
than saying the moon is made of green cheese.

too close the back of your head or something? Pull your
fangs out of your arse and put your noddle in gear before
your muzzle!
If I just riled readers, then I suspect my collection of
furry insults (that I thought up on the spot) appears to
have worked. No offence meant, but the way! Just
demonstrating a point! :-)
