Depends on what you mean by help. Do you have sketches
that you want 'squared up', inked and coloured? If so, I
may be of assistance, though full draw from scratch, I'm
not likely to give anywhere near desired results.
A tip, it pays to check your spelling before posting, if
you aren't going to proof read - it makes it a little
easier to follow your request. Thinking of spelling, the
skunk sister is Onyx, as opposed to the Pokemon Onix or
Ebony Leopard who drew the Onex and Treska comparison.
Haven't cruised the files section in a while; appears there
are a few I haven't seen (no notification sent to the group
on posting?). Shinji Hikari - decent sketch of Lori
blindfolded about to get 'very Thor'... Any plans to ink
and colour?
Just a few tips generally when uploading furs; I noticed
several files are quite huge that really don't need to be.
Save pics in JPG format for static images - use no more
than 72dpi (screen res), crop the image down so there isn't
heaps of unnecessary white space and keep the res no more
than about 1024x768 (so it will fit on most screens without
having to run a 'full screen fit' to compress the pic to a
viewable size. Obviously not all pics fit this shape, so
limit to 1024 and let the other dimension go where it will
- I can live with a little scrolling in one direction. :-)
Colour limits help too. Often 65k colour looks 99% as
good as million of colours and uses less space. Grey scale
pictures and line art can frequently be saved as 256 grey,
making them tiny in comparison.
Big files (such as .exe), even though they may be cool,
tend to suck up bulk space. Uploading them as a ZIP file
can help. It may pay to leave them up for a month then
take them down so we don't run out of storage with maybe a
not in its place requesting users to mail you if they'd
like to see it.
Things that aren't skunkworks related (like virus fixes)
are better downloaded from a reputable site that continues
to improve there product. Fine to get past an emergency
(update your anti-virus if you haven't since yesterday
morning - Bugbear.b is pillaging wildly - I lost two sites
yesterday before we managed to get everything locked down!)
but after a month, the crisis is over and it should
preferably be taken down. I use the rule of "If you
wouldn't look for it there, then it is in the wrong place".
Documents are best submitted in plain text .TXT format for
small items like parodies, lymerics etc. Bigger items that
require preservation of formatting seem to benefit from
being saved as proper HTML. These are much more space
efficient that Word's DOC format.
On topic relevance is a good thing too- you may have a
furry sketch of an off-topic character that you want to
share or get appraised. I don't think anyone minds too
much if you put it up for a little while to get feedback,
but again it is better that you set up your own web page or
similar and take it out of the SAMA group after a few weeks
so we can ensure we have space for any new snippet Jim may
care to drop in an share with us. We wouldn't want to miss
out on those now would we!!! :-)
Play nicely furs - I'm using up my holiday time playing on
the group, but each to there own. I'll be back on line in
about a week, so please be patient with replying to posts.
I'm not ignoring you, I'm just not on line!
Scrapper, Black Dragon, draggin' himself away from the computer!
