After reading your previous email mentioning about zipping up .exe's,
it's now half the size after wrestling with the files section which
wanted to play silly buggers as I replaced the larger uncompressed
version. It's something I should have thought of doing a bit sooner
really...

The filesize for the .swf file is pretty much just under the original
filesize for the page as a .gif actually, but for future pages I think
it'd be better to just link to a separate flash player instead of
uplaoding an imbedded one for those who still have trouble with the
.swf.

The suggestion for the dissapearing speech bubbles you gave was quite
helpful in making it look better. As for the speed up in timing, I
basically just sped up the clip by 50% so I didn't have to bother
manually changing when everything happened... ^^;

The eyes were the hardest part really - they're quite fiddly, not only
in the actual movement but actually having to 'draw' in the parts of the
iris that were unseen and didn't exist in the originals. I definitely
need to practice a bit more in that area...

The difference between the .swf files and the .exe is a whopping 800kb,
so most of that is definitely the player. Looking at the actual .swf's,
there's not much difference in size between the first frame I originally
showed off and the full page. The first .swf I showed included the
graphics for the rest of the page still even though they weren't used in
it, so compared to the final version of the full page, the space that
all the animation code as such takes up is rather negligible. And as
mentioned before, they end up being about the same size as the original
.gif too if just in .swf format. :)
