Haven't been able to check the Yahoo groups in a long time, due
to too many deadlines.
Re; subscriptions: we did have a problem that delayed all the
subscriptions for a while in that the log file containing all the
label information got corrupted. The mail order people had to go
through all the boxes of saved order paperwork and completely
reconstruct all the files in a new system, and unfortunately that
took a long time. Subscriptions are going out regularly now, and
we apologize for the delays.
Re; email: yes, we get a ridiculous amount of spam. We got so
much on one account, we had to close it down, since it was
getting 200 spam messages a day. AOL just isn't equipped to
handle spam attacks of that magnitude. And yes, I said attacks-
apparently a couple of disgruntled teenagers with too much time
on their hands regularly sign up all the Radio Comix related
email accounts to as many spam generating websites as they
can- usually every couple of months. It's annoying and irritating,
but not a lot can be done about it. Tabby, the new mail order girl,
is setting up an email account just to answer mail questions, but
she's also going to college full time, so she's a little slow. ^_^;
Re; calling the Radio office: not really a good idea. Why? Well,
we're really only three people, and the two part-time mailorder
people only come in late in the evenings when they're done with
school and work (once the answering machine system is on). Of
us three full-timers, half the time we are out doing errands
(shipping things, going to the printers, getting more supplies,
dealing with bills, etc.- you'd be surprised how much time that
eats up) and the other half of the time, we are working on getting
the books made and out. We don't have a receptionist, or a
voicemail system, so the chances of being able to get an answer
on a mail order question via the phone is actually not that good.
(In fact, often, the person here who answers the phone the most
is Pat, who knows absolutely nothing about the mail order or
where to look things up, so he can be friendly, but ultimately not
very helpful. ^_^; Ask him about Photoshop though, and he can
talk your ear off.) We hope to someday be big enough to actually
have someone to answer the phone and deal with mail order
questions that way, but the way the industry is going these days,
who knows when that will happen. ^_^;
Back to work for me, five books to turn in soon.

PS We don't actually go on vacation here- we do attend three
conventions a year, but believe me, you cannot consider those
vacations. It's like working retail at Xmas for three or four days
straight, without any food or bathroom breaks. ^_^; I don't think
I've had what could be considered an actual day of vacation in
about five years- and I actually only get one day off a month. But,
that's the way it is, so I'm not going to complain about it. ^_^
