As usual, it may take me a while, but I will get back to
furs! Brief review and writing pointers included below...

Don't forget to check the little box below the subject

I've seen this MANY times before, you are far better to
start out with some good short stories and prove yourself
as a capable writer. Several reasons:
- if you're first story is a flop, furs will usually cut
you some slack and read the second, but if you start a
series badly, it can be a sign of things to come!
- everyone has good intentions, but I was scrutinising the
FF section and noticed at least two other 'started' series
that in their current forms are not even able to be made
into singular short stories and have never progressed past
the first installment... Hence one or two good, self
standing short stories will give you far more credibility
than starting a huge, unfinished project.
- schedules, plans and editing teams are _required_ to
successfully pull off a series. As well as the use of a
spell checker! Generally your story was pretty good, but
there was at least one spelling error and a few pronoun
errors I found. I may not spell check my posts, but I
always do my stories. This said, I've STILL had things
slip through! (eg, word exchanges - correct spelling, wrong
word).
For a good seriers, you need to have an overall series plot
layed out to guide overall direction, then have a plot for
each chapter you are writing so it doesn't just meander
around and lose reader interest. This takes a fair bit of
work. After each installment is written you really require
someone to read over it and look for phrasing difficulties,
conflicts in plot and other errors that computer checkers
can't find. The advantage of short stories is you can
remove your deadlines and are not bothering who ever every
week with another huge slab of text requiring editing. Rae
Shewolf sighs and shakes her head every time I ask her to
read another of mine (she says I write like I've a pole up
my arse - too formal?)
> feedback would be greatly appreciated
If you would like someone to go over what you have
submitted so far and point out some things that can be
improved, let me know and I'll be happy to go over it with
you off group. This goes for any fur who'd like their work
scrutinised or proof read. Feel free to mail me directly
(scrapperbd_at_yahoo.com - in case you couldn't figure) and be
patient for a response. I'm only on line during the week,
so if you write me on a weekend, it could be a few days
into the next week till I've cleared the inbox, read your
work and got back to you. Fear not! I _will_ get back to
you! :-)
There is potential in this story - not a bad first effort.
If you'd like help, let me know. It is good to see furs
contributing, as I'm frequently proclaiming. :-)
Scrapper, Black Dragon, contributor of about half the texts
in the files section... Not that this means I'm a great
writer, but that I've found a forum to unload my ideas
into! ;-)
