There is actually an mpeg made of all the out-takes where
this guy who mastered 'that' scream had his effect used -
quite interesting actually... Sad, but interesting...
I'm assuming with that data quantity, you hadn't bothered
to use an offline backup media (such as tape, CD, DVD etc)?
Considering a DVD cutter yet? They can be had in Oz for
A$350 with blanks (4Gb) available for $1.80

Doesn't it make you spew, when you suddenly realise the
only copy of .... has just vanished. Tried doing drive
recovery? Or genuinely gone? Some Norton tools can
recover 'deleted' files. Norton Unerase 8 for DOS can
recover files, but only with DOS file names (else it
truncates to the usual 8+3). Obviously needs a FAT or
FAT32 partition as well.

Ah, that sounds like copyright infringement, as I have the
feeling JMH didn't 'release' those to the net, from what I
know (though I could be wrong).

Wasn't aware of that, though I feel I will become painfuly
aware of it in the coming year when users ask for drive up-
grades and can't run their new disks...

You can't just download? Backdoor Skunked.com (as many of
the pages are not officially up at the moment, though they
are still there) and suck stuff down again? Anything
except Ups & Downs that you can't get here or on Skunked
I'd suggest would probably be "treading on Jim's toes".
Not wanting to cause trouble, just making a few points to
try and help others avoid issues too... If things are
legit, then go for it! Good luck with rebuilding your
collection - it is hard enough to get in the first place,
let alone recreate when the unfortunate occurs.
Scrapper, Black Dragon, with minimal surf time and
correspondingly small amounts of data. :-(
