"Chimera" has also been used to mean just that in anime. One major
example I can think of is the "Slayers" anime series: Zelgadis, one
of the primary characters, is a chimera. He's part golem, part
demon, part human. Are you sure then, that it wouldn't get some sort
of outcry from anime companies? Then again, I don't see how it would
make sense, but the human organism does not necessarily react in
ways that make sense.
