Sorry i havent kept up much with this thread, and mainly been a lurker to this group but i have a few things to say about this. Not to contridict anyone because what you said is primarily true its not exactly possible but here goes. And i apologise in advance if this goes over anyones head.

First off, taking the DNA of both wouldnt make it into a horrible monster or some blob thing that would die real soon. Since our DNA and other creatures DNA is primarily similar (in blood and heart and organs and such) the thing could live. But the appearance would be determined by DOMINATE genes. Since we dont know which is dominate it may turn out to be something extremely random and not what we want, or even possibly into a horrible blob monster that would die in a few days but i doubt it, at least i hope this isnt what you would end up with =D.

Oh and your DNA does and can be changed. First of there is normal decay but that doesnt help. Well anyways, anyone who has HIV or the sorts has there DNA changed, thats becuase its a retro virus (at least im pretty sure on this one and thats the virus i remember was a retro virus). Anyways a retro virus uses enzymes to cut apart your DNA and adds its own. If only we could control a retro virus. Well anyways put this on a larger scale and you could change the DNA of every cell in your body. Unfortunatly you can only add with this method, and the actuall changing would take a long time or maybe not even possible at least not at an adult age.

Well if you havent already guessed i hope to get involved in this stuff and i hope ive got my info correct. If i messed up anywhere plz tell me. I hope you liked the reading and i hope it didnt go over your head. (I need to add some of this info to my site)

It’s a nice thought, isn’t it? That but with some human DNA and some skunk DNA you could do the magic mixing thing and make a living version of the trio. I do, however, fear it wouldn’t work that way. If the scientists feel that the result of such a crude fusion of human and animal DNA is an abomination, well, I’d not be surprised if it was. Even if be some lucky chance you ended up with a viable organism, what would you have achieved if you produced some freakish thing that barely ekes out some months of horrible existence before finally succumbing to the inevitable conclusion; a miserable death to end a pitiable life? Perhaps is might be so bad, but we’re tinkering where we have no idea. Furries as depicted would, at best, have to be the product of an absolute knowledge of DNA and genetic manipulation. They would have to be the result of precise designing from the ground up.

Oh, and just in case no one realized this: Contrary to popular Sci-Fi movies you could not change the DNA of a developed organism, that’s you, and have that organism mutate or morph into another organism. Such a radical alteration to the DNA would result in the host’s death, or permanent illness. I‘m sure this is quite the blow ;)
