You can get surge protectors for your phone lines. The
cheap and nasty method we use at some of the low-budget
site offices is to tie a know in the phone line. Helps damp
the spikes, but tends to cap connection speeds a bit too.
Then again, low budget site offices fequently can't get a
good connection, so no loss there!

Be grateful that it only cooked the modem. I've repaired
systems where they pretty much had to replace all the
box... In Far North Queensland all of our computer and
coms equipment has heavy shielding, as we get around 20
'lightening days' per year. Compared to our Indonesia
sites that only have 7 lightening FREE days per year, even
the heavy shielding doesn't always save the systems.

Keeps interest in the job. Horrible being bored! You
think if there is nothing on, you can surf the web etc etc.
For some reason, you just feel bored and do nothing! NOT
a problem for me of hate hence why I've been relatively
quiet. :-) More stories on the way, incidentally!

And if it is like me, just READING let alone responding!

We look forwared to it, flood away!

Looking forward to seeing the site updates. You'll
probably have the group cleaned up before I go to post the
next story anyway. :-)

Only problem with lots of learning is it does draing the
mental energy. Look after yourself, else you'll end up
sipping Nyquil again.

You'll stop putting things off starting tomorrow? ;-) We
hang around because we firmly believe that you'll be back.
Besides, when there is a chance of spying some quality
anthro tail, why wouldn't you hang around? :-)

This translates to about 4 hours in JMH time...

Just stopped over - still the temp page, but nice cheetah.
Looking forward to seeing the running site. Good to see
Val Kyrie's going to 'have a home' as well, in addition to
old favourites. :-) The counter says we're up to 57,470
hits, in only _5_ weeks! Damn Cheetah, you really are
going to be hosting a highly desireable site!

Relax furs, stress doesn't make things go faster, it only
makes them more painful.

Scrapper, Black Dragon, who needs to take his own advice!
