*LOL* I don't think she'd eat any of that stuff, man! Heh heh.
By "unusual diet", I was implying that her eating habits are a bit
different than say, Des's, or the Trio's. She consumes ungodly
amounts of sugar (whether from candy, fruits, or whatever), yet
doesn't have to worry about things such as cavities, because her
biology (bone matter, muscles, organs, etcetera) is different. Her
people have a symbiotic relationship with Treska'a species; Onika's
people (who are omnivorous, and eat a lot of "sweet" plants) use
their farming to attract smaller animals (which are consumed by
Treska's people, who are strict carnivores). In turn, Treska's
species protects Onika's species from other predators. Very few
creatures will go against one of Treska's people, because they're
practically a walking weapon.
Onika's people are extremely long-lived, and show almost no signs
of aging, aside from their skin color fading a bit, and perhaps some
gray hair. Their skin density is far superior to ours, and even
Des's (the chameleon); they begin to show a few extra wrinkles after
they hit 70-75 years of age. English is not Onika's original
language, but because of her species' fairly high IQ's, learning a
new language isn't _too_ difficult. Learning to write it is
something else, though.
Her people also get the vast majority of their vitamins and such
from the sun; their bodies somehow (as yet unexplained) metabolize
the sunlight. Think of them as some sort of living solar cell. A
byproduct of their solar consumption is the sometimes-creepy
luminescent effect it has on their eyes. Perhaps some sort of
phosporescent material is in their eyes? Who knows? She's not about
to let herself get dissected!
They are playful their entire lives; it is a stark contrast to
Treska's people, who rarely speak, and tend to be quite serious.
I'm dying to explain everything, and list all the info I have on
the different species on her world, how they tie in to the Trio's
world, and how some of the rulers of her country (long before she was
born, of course) were seen by our ancestors long ago...
But you're just gonna have to wait. >;)
