Situation (hopefully) under control...

Hey folks-
Just sent a civil letter to the individual who created the polls.
I'm hoping the situation can be resolved peacefully, because I can
be the mother of all sons-of-bitches if riled enough. Below is the
letter I sent to the member. Apologies to those who had no desire
to see any of this stuff in their inboxes.

<LETTER>

Hey there!
Just thought I'd drop a note to you to try to explain the current
situation. I prefer civility to harsh actions, but when I get a
bunch of e-mails from group members alerting me to a potential
problem, I must respond accordingly.
I appreciate your eagerness within the group, and your attempts to
upload scans of my work, but there are certain rules of protocol
which the group (myself included) must follow.
Fan-art of Skunkworks stuff is always okay to upload, and I
strongly encourage members to post their renditions of whichever
character strikes their fancy. However, posting existing samples of
my work is somewhat unnecessary. I prefer to use the group to post
new stuff, or stuff which is in various stages of production. This
way, folks can see things which they normally would not (if they
were not a group member).
I have had no choice but to change the accessibility options for
creating polls, as it has been misused in the past (but I was
reluctant to take such steps). I may also modify the folder you
created in the files section of the group as well, but will await
the responses of others before making that decision.
I want you to understand that this is not a malevolent action, nor
is it any attempt to push group members away. As I stated before, I
appreciate your eagerness, but some of your actions borderline on
what is/is not permitted in the group. It's important to remember
that there are many members whose inboxes get every message posted
to the group; I try to keep these members in mind when posting my
own messages, since (if I were one of them) I wouldn't want an
overflowing inbox either. The group has many interesting features
available, but it is essential to avoid misusing them (as in the
Polls example).
In closing, I hope you will understand the message behind this e-
mail, and will not misinterpret the notice to be mean or insulting;
it is not meant to be either. I hope you will not act rashly after
reading this correspondence, since I try to do what I can to keep
the group active and entertaining, and I'd like as many people as
possible to enjoy the group. If you should decide to leave the
group, then that is your own decision, but I have no desire to be
the reason for anyone's departure. I hope you will decide to stay
along for the ride.
If you have any questions about what is permitted in the group,
you can post questions in either the Message section, or in
the "Questions for Jim" folder in the Files section.

Sincerely,

James M. Hardiman
