In reference to the recent poll about Yahoo deleting groups with unlisted
ages:
THIS IS ENTIRELY FALSE.
This has been said a thousand times, and Yahoo has actually begun banning
members who spread this rumor; They're sick of it.
When you sign up for Yahoo, you have to give an age statement. if you are
underage, you will not be allowed to view groups, much less join them.
What is in the PUBLIC profile is irrelevant; No groups will be deleted, nor
members banned, for information stated here. It is a public, and
non-obligatory profile.
Underage users CANNOT join adult groups simply by changing their profile.
They MUST have falsified the initial signup, in which case banning them is
of little use; They should be reported to Yahoo staff.
40% of all deleted groups have violated copyright.
45% are closed due to complaints.
0% have been deleted due to members' profiles.
