I don't know who started this rumor, but i'd like to smack them with a pipe wrench. It's been nothing but trouble to Yahoo. We get endless complaints about 'They rejected me!' and there's just nothing we can do.

Some admin will axe a group who turns people away like that, JUST to cut down on the hundreds of complaints a week the group generates.

    Thanks for the heads up! There had been about 60 people whose
  memberships were pending upon their age listing, and I was hesitant
  to approve them for fear of violating a Yahoo! policy and possible
  causing the premature demise of the group.
    Soooo...I just approved them. Thanks! Sorry, all you folks
  awaiting approval. At least now you know what was taking so long!
