It's probably triggered by lack of a local referrer header from your
browser. If the server doesn't see the request as coming from
skunked.com it will send a bogus graphic or give a 403 error to stop
people embedding the images in other sites and email and message board
postings. A lot of sites do that and some so-called firewalls block
the referrer header from your browser. I don't see why they block
referrers. It tells the site more about other sites than about your
browsing habits.

Trying to grab a graphic off skunked.com without a referrer with wget
gives me a 403 error:

--11:57:38-- http://www.skunked.com/BY_THE_TAIL/MAIN_PICTURE.jpg
            => `MAIN_PICTURE.jpg'
Resolving www.skunked.com... done.
Connecting to www.skunked.com[208.36.163.64]:80... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 403 Forbidden
11:57:50 ERROR 403: Forbidden.

So, set your *cough* 'firewall' to allow referrer headers within the
same site, if not allow all of them.
