This sketch came out quite reasonable Macavety. How long
does it take you to draw something like the B&W version?
Your line work is generally pretty good, though some of the
physiology could do with a little revision. Considering
I'd be challenged to do better, I can't really talk, but if
I can assist you in identifying things to help you do
better, then this is my aim.

Onyx' right arm is a little long in the forearm and
slightly too thin - missing muscle mass from upper forearm.
You do hands and claws quite well. Powerful claws always
look good. Onyx' right leg appears okay, but you probably
should have made the line for her tail feinter as it
appears at first glance to be part of her leg! If you
soften the line some, it makes it appear further away.
'Blur of distance' if you like. Her left leg is a little
too thin behind the knee. You had the calf line curve
pretty much correct in the first pencil line, though you
needed to make her thigh a little thicker behind the knee,
hence it affects the rest of the lower leg and makes it a
little too thin. Angle of her feet relative to her hips
and knees point to far to her left, but your general foot
construction seems pretty good.

The cake - what can we say? Is it the cake or the candle
the skunk's excited about???

The second (colour) picture still has the physiology faults
of the first (like her legs), but the fur looks awesome!
Excellent work in getting a cartoon character to "fit into
Real Life"! I'd like to see more pics done this way. Good
application of colour - nice and punchy! Her eyes and ears
have excellent levels of detail. A few of your lighting
highlights appear a little too strong (such as around the
side of her skirt) that can be easily remedied by not
blending in quite so strongly. Would suggest a similar
lighting hightlight should be applied around the edge of
her bust and along her neck line of her top as well.

With the line of her mouth, I would probably have used a
very light pink tone, to blend the line slightly as it
appears too sharp. Since this area is skin, it is more
likely to be the same colour as the inners of her ears.

I may be a little picky with some of these observations,
but these are just suggestions for making a good picture
into a great picture. Definitely good work Macavety;
looking forward to seeing more of your art. Thanks for
posting.

Scrapper, Black Dragon, pleased to see furs contributing.
