Ah, very different plotline than the one I cooked up. I think it's best if I:
1) Dumped my stories and character inserts [in my existing stories- yes, idiotic] for Onika/Treska as I have no idea what they are. I'm curious about them though. I saved some juicy tidbits as I can drop and shape them into a story. [I had completed the entire pit fight and raid escape sequence before reading this message- a ton of work, now all junked.]
2) Wait patiently for the comics/stories/films to come out for these characters before I begin doing anything anywhere, even the QuakeIIForge game idea. I choose QuakeIIForge, available at
http://www.quakeforge.net/ , because it is the best FREE 3D game platform for making a standalone game. Quake III Arena, Lithtech Jupiter, Steam [Half-Life], and Unreal Tournament all carry a price tag ranging from $100K [Lithtech Jupiter] -$350K plus royalties[Unreal Tournament] to make ONE standalone game with their engine. I got some of the Lithtech original source code which shows their base tweaks of the Quake I engine, and I have some ideas on adding things and tweaking the engine to do more than what it does for Quake II, Heretic II, and Kingpin: Life of Crime, trying to bring it to Unreal's level.
So, I sit here, twiddling my thumbs. Yeah, okay, I might as well finish refining the "Of Skunks and Dragons" stories after I delete the Onika references in parts 5 and beyond.
C++ ya. :P
