I've finally got around to having a good look and writing a
critique. See below. :-)

Damn! This is a nice piece of fan art! Make sure you
check
out this one Jim, if you get a spare minute! Our fur Chris
seems to really have a great grasp of drawing! Better
watch out, he'll give you a hurry up! :-P
Please note that better art pieces I'll tend to pick more
specific details as opposed to more general things, as I
view I can assist you from going form good, to _really_
good; and the difference is often the small detail. I'd be
pretty darn plussed if I could draw like this (I _really_
need to put aside some serious time and draw!).
Very good physiology! She is propoprtional, plausible and
appealing! You've only got one deviation that I can spot -
she has too many digits; Onyx usually only has three, not
four. ;-) Not something I'd stress about. :-)
The shading for shape and shadow is very good. Nice shape
definitions while still keeping a clean, punchy colour set.
There are a few focus points that should be softened, to
give better depth. The rear part of her hair should be
softer in focus, making it appear further away. Her tail
fur along the edge should be much softer in focus, about
the same level as the white in her tail at the 'top of the
curve'. That would improve the depth of the pic.
I'd love to see this pic applied like Macavety does and use
a photo image background. Propping herself up on a bed or
similar. (couch, floor, car bonnet?). You could fix the
focal depths on her tail etc when you applied the
background (hint, hint).
Overall, I'd have to say this is probably the best piece of
fan art I've seen posted to the group. We've had a really
good level of art posted recently, but this is really
great. Considering I tend to have quite a pessimisstic
measuring system, that's really saying something!
Thank-you very much for posting and sharing this image with
us Chris, I'm sure Jim will be very pleased when he sees
this image.
Just think, Macavety, you're on the way and now you have
someone to 'follow'. I'm looking forward to both of your
future submissions to the group (your time and goodwill
permitting!)
Scrapper, Black Dragon, pretty hard to impress, but
impressed this time.
PS, sorry about the slow reply. :-( S,BD.
PPS, Jim, we really need to save some fan artwork to
Skunked so we can squeeze some more in here! S,BD.
