Des's childhood was pretty good-she has a tendency to blow things
out of proportion sometimes, including the events concerned with her
slight accent. She just liked to pick fights, and probably used that
as an excuse, I bet. ;)
Not everyone's life is a bowl of cherries, but overall, I don't
think any of the above mentioned characters have had it _too_ rough.
The trio are fine these days, as luckily, nothing happened beyond the
initial violation. (Lori saw to that!)
Angeline, as well as Tom, now have some direction in their lives
because of certain bad events which happened to them. A lot of
people will take a bad circumstance, blow it out of scale, and then
wallow in the pain and guilt of it. Not so with the individuals
listed above. Folks who allow bad things to rule their lives have no
room to complain, because it is ultimately up to them to dig
themselves out of their self-made pit. The folks listed above have
decided to move on with their lives, and to grow as individuals.
That's not to say some occurrences didn't have lasting effects; it's
just that they realize they are the ones in charge of their destinies.

  Perhaps it's a bit of both. ;)

As should we all (myself included)!
