That's the one.

They are drawn more in 'super hero' style, trending towards
detail / realism to more of a degree than most of us draw.
The basics, irrespective of your preferred style, are still
the same and well explained and demonstrated in this book.

Yes, the one in the sidekicks section does have a very
'manky rat' look about her, but is done to illustrate a
point about sidekicks being often the total opposite to the
hero. The anime style cat girl (or manga style as they
call comic book art, versus anime for animated stuff)
doesn't rate high on my appeal either, but this is all a
styling thing and illustrates the variations between the
styles.

They really are pretty much a mandatory piece of equipment.
I built mine from an old flouro light fitting with wooden
walls and a piece of perspex over the top. Sits well on my
bench and does what I want of it. Scanners and printers
for copying are also very useful, though I own a colour
photocopier (that costs way too much to run!) and an
overhead projector that also come in handy for some
projects, but are not essential.

Scrapper, Black Dragon, books are nice as are peer groups,
but nothing really substitutes a good teacher (and I'm
lucky to have Tokes).
