That's probably due to Americans liking *all* of their food to be
sweeter - the ingredients for most food products includes sugars or
sweeteners of some sort, and even good old Quaker Oat Squares got a
stronger coating of sweet flavoring just a few months ago, something I
disagree with.
I watch the Food Network cake-making contest specials for some really
wild and wonderful decorations, though.
...I think that's enough off-topic stuff from me for now, as I could
go on for a while if I let myself.
