He was helping a black archaeologist as they explored an ancient cat-people temple. Because the cat people didn't trust humans they didn't warn them off and as a result an ancient demon cat bound in a small statue was removed and then freed by Skeletor who then ran like a scared rabbit when he found out it was tougher than he was. Only by adding her knowledge to things was He-man able to rebind it. The morality tale at the end had them talking about the problems of trust bred betweeen two different peoples and encouraged communication and tolerance.

Well now He-man DID have a female feline guest star in one episode, Katrina. Definitely anthro and not 'human with fur and tail'

And let's not forget "The Night Stalker", which I read
some where will be remade this fall as part of the,
Let's all jump on the misery/scared show like Lost
band wagon. Anyone think this will be as good as the
      original? Just asking

      Reply:

Remake...of...Karl Kolchak and his cheesy 70's monsters??!!??

      AGGGHHH!!!

Theyw ern't really that cheesy. For the time and budget, I thought it was
well done. You want cheesy, look at all the kids shows of the time.
Especially the Filmation shows. That was cheesy!

      Reply:

      Oh yes.
Filmation, where using stock animation was the norm, not an exception. <G>

I first saw Filmation in the Star Trek animated series, (M'Ress...oh YASSS!)
and later the "Fat Albert" cartoon, and those horrible "He-Man" and "She-Ra"
cartoons I watched anyway to get a laugh.

But you're right about the Night Stalker effects being pretty much state of
      the art for 70's TV.
It was cheesy, compared to today, of course. <G>
