I remember that one, (got it on tape) it was called
*Slaver's Weapon*
the device was found in a stasis box and had one very
special setting.. a (as spock put it) total mass to
energy conversion.. essentually, a beam that severed
the binding force between the atoms and made a really
REALLY big boomie!
and yes.. that was well before Id read any of the
Man/Kizin wars, and now that you mention it, they did
look somewhat scruffy, but the resemblance if any are
familiar is more then passing.
