I trust you haven't heard that Paul Rubens (the actor who played Peewee
Herman) had been recently arrested for child molesting. :-p

Don't count on it. They've had that for many decades, but never in the
mainstream media. They don't even show vaginas nowadays. I doubt
there will be a big market for mainstream porn. Hell, these days there
is a backlash against sexual advertising, not because of moral outrage
but because there's been so damn much of it, people have stopped paying
attention to it! (From "The Economist" magazine.)

Another unmentioned problem: cartoon series based on existing
characters in other media (newspaper strips etc.) tend to be quite
mediocre. And who knows if Jim Hardiman would like how said cartoons
would be done? Robert Crumb was quite upset with Ralph Bakshi's
animated cartoon of his character Fritz the Cat (and even sued
afterward,) and I can't imagine how the Skunk Sisters could ever be a
commerical success. The three of them have sex with each other, for
chrissakes! Do you think that even Adult Swim would dare put that sort
of thing on television? Personally, I see no moral difference between
homosexuality and incest, but that's society for you.

Long Tom.
