Hi I'm Adam. Long time reader, first time poster
I want to develop my art.
Not unreasonably I Thought: "well I may as well set up an area in my
flat that is devoted to drawing and the like"
Okay so first things first:
Stationary – Check
Paper – Check
Light Box (Is actually a square office light (: )) ) – Check
Drawing Table….ah!
The main item that I need, to call a space in my apartment an "art
corner" and I don't have it >:(
So what's your problem? I hear you ask. Just go out and get one!
HERE LIES THE PROBLEM
YOU TRY AND FIND ANY: (Drafting table, Drawing table, Artist's
Table, Artist Table, Inclined Table, Drawing board, Angled Table
etc. Sigh…you name it, I've searched for it) FOR SALE IN THE UK and
the only results you get back are either technical drawing boards or
some obscure site that happens to feature the two keywords. Oh and I
have tried putting "speech marks" so that google searches for the
two keywords side by side.
In the USA however, no problem and so I discovered
artsuppliesonline.com. Okay fine, they ship internationally so I
ordered a craftmaster. Order was put on hold for a while then, out
of the blue was cancelled. Ordered a different table now and lo and
behold it is on hold, so it doesent take a genius to know that it to
will be cancelled!
EBay? Nope, no good
This is where I have found both an incredible annoyance and a
possible business opportunity. I am willing to spend just over £100
on a table but cant find one ANYWHERE IN THE UK!
Please Help! If anyone knows of a place within the south west of the
UK or in the UK in general or knows of a site that despite my best
efforts may have eluded me, please tell me, its driving me mad. Of
course other aspiring artists will benefit from any info received.
I close by saying: AAAAARRRRRGGGHHHHH (continues to bang head
against wall)
