When I had our house remodeled in 1999, the phone wiring was all screwed up, it was a mess getting
then to come to
get that fixed up, I had to resort to namecalling to get them to come. They finally came and
replaced the inside wiring,
and that fixed up the problem. Give 'em hell until it doesn't crackle or pick up radio stations.
One time in the phone company's attempts to fix the house's inside wiring after the remodeling,
they fixed the noise,
but then as I was talking on the phone, there was another voice in the background, preaching about
trumpets, hell
and damnation.
I was picking up the local Christian broadcast station. I called the phone company and told them
that even though I
believe in most of the values of the station, I don't want to hear it all the time when I am on
the phone. I don't want to
hear anything else, just complete silence.
I know there are quite a few folks 'round here who never do get that fixed, thinking it is a
religious sign or blessing.
Frickin' idjut sheep.
In the mean time, try getting DSL filters on your line, it could do the trick. Those things would
tame noise and those
radio reception sounds and raise your connection speed up to near the rate of 56Kbps modems. Find
someone who
has a few to spare- they're cheap and anyone who gets a DSL self install kit gets a handful of
them.
